Other short leash pros/cons:
+ will not drag you backwards in event of a deathlooping kite
- can't use it as a shoulder strap when carrying all the gear wrapped into the harness
+ compact and doesn't dangle around as much
- can't use it to hook in the kite behind you and walk back if you have to walk long distance through water
