Would be interesting to know what was the average wind speed in knots during that record run...40kn...45kn...50kn...57kn ??....anybody knows ?

Great stuff! My family used to have a Hobie Trifoiler, fastest production sailboat, very fun to pull a couple G's going 45mph in the cockpit

that's france and the wind is called the "mistral" the event is held in the salt marshes, caused by fall pressure systems.
luderitz is a different wind and I'm not quite sure how it's formed, I think it's partly thermal from the desert.
If I had my choice just to hang out and do some speed runs no world records just to go fast, I think I would rather go to luderitz, seems smoother wind. The mistral can be terrifying.
