I think if shit hits the fan and a line breaks or something it's quicker to pop out the chicken loop since he doesn't even have the donkey dick in place. He's wearing a parachute so I think the goal is to beable to eject the full kite and lines asap.

Of course I would do what he is doing if I were trying to make up for the woo thing. Just kidding. Clearly, going with the tried and tested mechanisms is the best way to avoid splattering all over the ocean. Also, there was a thread I saw where someone was bashing the fireball thing. Couldn’t help myself. Just curious, anyone want to give odds on recovering a stalled loop at 60 or more meters in the air? Or 270+ meters, since this is now possible? 500 meter tow in itself is pretty crazy..

What is the world record here? Highest tow of guy named Nick Jacobsen?
My own world record is on highest tow is roughly 1000m. 1000m rope plus rope stretching on HG.
Biggest kite descent and highest kite flying AGL I know is 1800m with kite landing.

This is not good for the kiting community. I don't care what precautions were taken in the production of this clip, this is some irresponsible shit that will only encourage amateurs to take unnecessary risks that could be damaging to the public image of our sport.
This goes in the same category as guys jumping over concrete piers during massive hurricanes. Poor ambassadorship of our sport to the media-consuming public.

damn Mossy, you just don't get it at all. Oh kiting since 2013....yeh you wouldn't get it. The new crop of lounge chair kooks late to the party.
