Yes bring your gear, it's getting later in our season but still can be windy Feb-March.

Can get fun seabreeze on beach.. downwinders r fun get the tram up wind tie pump to your back for downwinder, main beach there will be other kiters at one location ( a few), rest will be at KFC on the broadwater.
Currumbin fun on northerlies outgoing tide. 30 mins drive South. Kirra can be fun in northerlies too.

You will typically get three or four days of 20 knot+ afternoon seabreezes (NE or SE) during Feb to March in Southern Queensland heading all the way down the NSW coast to Victoria.
I am 100kg and would typically use a 8/10/12.
