I use GTS4 15m LW. With this kite you can do unhooked freestyle in 10-14kts, but you can do even more old-school or airstyle in 12-18kts. And it jumps insane with hell of a hang time. The kite is insane for its size (in a way it loops and responds). For me it is easier to do surface kiteloop tricks on this kite than on small kites in high wind. I prefer my freestyle session with 15m GTS4 on 12-14kts day than 22-26kts day on my 7m. The difference is that you get similar performance but in very different conditions. On 15m it all feels safe and easy. After getting this kite i actually started to love my LW days, which were pretty shit before that.

Also consider that this kite is specifically built with LW conditions in mind (it is more delta shaped, has lighter canopy, a bit different aspect ratio), while other crossovers like Dash/RPM/FX/DICE are built just like larger versions of the same kite shape/design. So in the end it is heavy and still needs at least 14-15kts to get you any useful pop.

interesting points, leaning towards Rpm. Dash also looks nice, which kite is best for unhooked, RPM or DASH? Has anyone tried them both?

Oh thanks.

The rpm has been around forever, the Dash is in it's 1st or 2nd iteration. I'd stick to the rpm but if you have a 12m torch I would go up to a 15m or 17m lightwind kite with some freestyle capabilities such as the turbine. The 14m rpm won't help all that much compared to a 12 torch.

Dash's predecessor - Park, was released in 2011.

Our locals swear the Ozon Zepher is great. Massive pull and lots of fun. Turns slow though

So you think getting 2 knots on bottom range is going to help you much ? Happy spending 😂

Makes the difference of being able to unhook at 12 or 14 knots. :thumb:

if you have 12/10 torch, stick to torch 14.
reasons are simple: same behave across the range, is sweet for wakestyle in light winds, one bar fit your set
