Kiteboard to Japenese language translation help

Postby SLiiCK » Sat Dec 16, 2017 1:43 pm

Hi is there any fellow Japanese kiteboarders and snowboarders out there who can tell me if this is the correct translation for "Kiteboard" and "Snowboard" as in the images it is for a T'Shirt project I am working on, I have resourced the information best that I can and before I print them just want to check this is correct.
Thanks in advance for any infoImage

Kito bodinggu. Typically Japanese.

Car parking = car parkingu...

I think you should put the phonetic on the shirt too

カイトボーディング
or if you're riding a directional: カイトサーフィン

"kiteboard" is fine though. Snowboarding usually gets abbreviated to "sunobo" around here.

Using the Imperial flag as a background, while very manga, might raise some eyebrows. It's not as bad as a swastika . . . more like a Confederate flag. In Asia, anyway. . . .

My Japanese colleagues also told me the Imperial flag is not PC. They kinda cringe when they see it.
Interesting that westerners find it attractive, not sure what it is. The design is good, it evokes some sort of " go getter" attitude, I think. We don't associate it with the War and all the shit that went down in Asia under that flag.

Hi Guys thanks so much for your help never thought of the rising sun in that way and associated with the war its just an iconic symbol of history to us which tends to be if I can say it cool, once again thanks for you help and Kamikuza just to check on the last letter of "kiteboard" is it correct?
Cheers again Steve

Yes. It says "kaitoboodo" which is kiteboard phonetically in Japanese. Grigor and I have both given you the version with -ing on the end but that would make the text too small :D

If you were feeling silly you could do:
KAITO!
BOODO!
and it'd be a similar style to 90% of advertisements here, which is basically shouting at people

Ironically I'm wearing a t-shirt that a friend gave me, can you please tell me what it means?

Cheers as you said it would make the text to small on that design so I will go ahead with the original one but the next design might be good to do one with KAITO! BOODO! I am liking the exclamation mark at the ends. :thumb:
Thanks again Steve
