hi,
i want to change my kite to north evo 10\11m and i dont know if the extra money for the 2018 model is necessary for my needs.
iam a medium rider, jumping, backrool, frontrool, and so
about 40% of the time surfing with surfboard and not tt board, in the future i would like to start surfing with a foil board (and i dont what to change kite until i get good with the foil)
if the 2018 model is 3 strut it means that it have batter lower end ? i know usually kites for foiling have less strut is batter for foiling because of the kite behave batter in low wind. am i right?
based on this things u think there will be a diffuseness between 2017 and 2018 models for me?
.
tnx for ur help

Not an Evo user but I only hear negativity over the 2018 North line-up. Keep your 2017 Evo. And there are much better LEI foil options than Evo.

The 2018 Evo would be the better choice for foiling and wave riding, the lowend, turningspeed and the drift is better compared to the 2017 Evo.

Sounds like the OP does not currently have North Evo.

And this is from the thread link you kindly quoted in your post.

Ok - I had a chance to ride the Evo yesterday. It was blowing about 20kts and I was on a 12m 2018 Evo with the middle setting. I was using a quad bar with 24 lines.
Overall I was really impressed and like it alot more than previous versions of the Evo. It's different than what I expected. Since they moved it to 3 struts I kind of thought that there would be some sacrifice in canopy stability and that it would not have an even power distribution throughout the loop, but
it was actually really stable and has a nice even power distribution --- btw - I am not referring to megaloops but surface tricks like darkslides. With many kites you get this surge at the end of the loop or, even worse, you get a reduction of power. This was definitely not the case with the Evo and it had rock solid delivery of looping power.
The boost will really good...it felt like this year may have a bit more low end but its difficult to say for sure since I was pretty well powered.
The bar pressure is perfect, not too soft and not too heavy. It definitely does not have the hangtime as the Rebel but will probably be much better for unhooking and wave riding. My time on the kite was only about 15 minutes so consider this just a quick summary but
if you were to go with this I think you would be very pleased. As always though, don't take my word for it. Try before you buy.
Edit - add highlights.

I like lindseym’s reviews very much. They are usually nothing but positive and informing. And I don’t blame him for keeping them positive either. Keeps hanging out on the forum a bearable experience when you see some of the retards who show up to troll.
When I say I hear nothing but negativity over 2018 North that does not mean the Evo is crap. Relative to 2017/2016 kites it does not seem that North’s 2018 line-up pleases regulars. That’s just my impression and it’s the Rebel and the Evo taking most of the hits. But there are plenty of people switching out their quivers, no doubt. Friend of mine scored a full 2017 3-kite Rebel quiver (used a handful of times) for €1500 from some rookie with too much money who wanted the 2018 Rebel in the same way he probably wanted the latest iPhone.
I don’t doubt many are enjoying the Evo but I don’t hear “forget the 2017, this 2018 rules!” from anyone. At my spot or on the forum, this is my impression. Sorry.

Many of my buds have the new Rebel and love it. I think people freak out whenever there is change.
