It would be easy to check accuracy of these units. There are other data loggers of altitude out there that are accurate and cheap but not waterproof. That could be addressed by the user (waterproofing) for testing purposes to check the accuracy of the Woo or PIQ units. Wow, just 2 hours of brain storming and we came up with the device to beat all those WOO/PIQ/XNSR/TRACE!
Good job people!
Now that $30 altimeter would be perfect on a windless day (well never mind it's low scan rate, etc)
But as you probably know, it uses atmospheric pressure for calculations and that thing keeps changing constantly with gusts on a windy day..
Now who's gonna be the first on this thread to suggest GPS?

I see 55 out of 56 jumps almost the same (within 1M) between PIQ and WOO, which is quite remarkable for 2 different devices from different manufacturers and in my opinion only reinforces their accuracy.

Yes the last jump is way off but overall the numbers are very close.

One meter off is huge! That's the difference between first place and doesn't make it to the podium jumps at something like King of the Air.

I had always taken for granted they had the bugs figured out on these things but one meter off is close? Not in my book!

I have never been a big fan of the woo devices, but I can't think of a better system if you are into measuring your jump height. For me I don't think it's a big deal how high someone jumps, but legit 20 meter jumps are very impressive, whether you measure it with a woo or not you are going huge.

I suppose if you did 1 jump a session and this was an Olympic sport judged on that one jump I could see your point.

But I do roughly 100 jumps a session. Having any jump +/- 50cm doesn’t really matter as it would average out. When I check my stats I usually see a trend, on good days I will have dozens of jumps within 10% of the max. Very rarely do you get 50 6M jumps with 1 12M jump. I have never had that result.

Anyway it’s a small but fun addition to your stoke and something that adds a social aspect when you have your whole local crew on it. Love seeing new riders set PRs.
