Flagrant boosting of the deepest steepest part of sweeet waves!

Postby plummet » Thu Dec 28, 2017 7:12 am

Oh yeah. I've had 2 sessions in sweet head to 1.5 head high steam trains combined with POWERED cross off 8m wind.

Both sessions i had the waves to myself to destroy and abuse how the hell i wanted. So I chose to ride the small sets in. Make sure i was on the inside for the when the biggest steam trains came in. Then i would charge at the waves at warp factor 9 and boooooooooost off the steepest deepest section of the wave. OH hell yeah! so much fun. Occasionally i would head out shred wave back in. But this was all about the boostage on the way out.

Its friken intense and awesome lining up a set of 1.5 head peeking waves boosting then landing to not get slammed by the next monster behind it! Not much room for error. But i guess that makes that much more thrilling than a standard no risk boost.

Awesome. Fully stoked.

yup its lots of fun until you push the timing a little too late and your feet get eaten by the monster closing in ;)

nice one,
I rarely go ocean side because it rarely comes in good for boosting, it's usually the straight onshore mess.

The other day with extreme low tide I got lucky and some waves were getting sucked into inlet changing direction of the incoming ramp.
Got lucky and got enough speed between 2 waves, and got to the wave just when it was cresting, in addition i was able to pop and redirect my board upwind as i went up the face of the wave.
One of the biggest boost i ever got.
It so much easier to boost high of ramps! I wish I had better conditions for boosting in waves, next time it's cranking I will definitly check out some ocean spot in case it's any good.
Those sessions are quite tough stamina wise.

Though waves can mess up your board release and send you in uncontrolled rotation, got to be careful.

Its on my bucket list man. Alas i have too many kids/mortgage and not enough cash right now. But one day i will make a pilgramge to the wave boosting capital of the world!

Yeah, I find if i can hit a clean ramp without any white wash i'm good and dont get any unwanted rotation. But if i smash a lip with crumbling white wash all hell can break loose!

Here's a pic of the waves after the wave crew rolled in.
I managed to gap a couple of the sets too yesterday!. Take off one wave jump over then next one then land on the back side of the face. Goddammit i'm please as f*** when I can pull that off. Yourve got to have that timing freaken bang on. Running short and smashing headlong into the next piching face is painful!
