Bummed that the Naish Center on Maui is closed permanently. I always had great service there when I visited Maui. Bought a couple SUP boards there. Was always totally stoked to see all the gear in one spot. I really hope someone on Maui carries some Naish gear. Doesn't make sense to me as it is the Western Hemisphere center of kiting & windsurfing?!?!?!?!?!

My favorite shop for rental boards,Globals! Was great to see their complete line of gear in one spot. Sad to see them go. This summer I sent them some old windsurfing mags from 1972? with a article on Robbie winning his first world title at 13?

I was told that the Hi Tech store which is not far away will carry Naish gear.
But the Naish Pro shop will certainly be missed.

Great service, great friends. I missed the Naish Pro Center too
. Great deals during the final sale I've bought a couple of Naish Trip for hydrofoiling.
Cheers
Carlo

Why did they close ?
Was it owned by Naish directly?

Shame, was always part of the Maui trip routine.
Sign of the times I expect.

I know, it's a bummer. I live in the middle of nowhere in California & we have barely 1 kiteshop about 50 miles away. Going to Maui & walking into shops with all the gear is always hella cool. Holding boards, paddles in your hands & comparing the models is really cool. I bought 2 sups from Naish & loved both of them - particularly as they gave me a good deal. Good boards, good gear. Jay was great & there was a younger guy that was great too. I had also had help from another older guy that was really great.
I ended up getting 2 new Pivots based off my experience with those guys there. So having that shop had ramifcations beyond just the shop on Maui. I was looking forward to checking out the Globals this winter. Hopefully Hi Tech will carry them. I can't imagine the mecca of kitesurfing-windsurfing-sup would be without a shop with their gear.
Disregard the Cab board in the pic. It was the best board I've ever had, but they don't make it anymore so I am probably going Global. The Slingy bar has already been replaced with a Naish bar and it is way better. The Slingy lines are too thick, they drag in the wind giving me lag-time on my kite. Naish bar is quick simple, rad.
