Who knows of a harness that will pack flat?

Postby rjkritzer » Sun Dec 31, 2017 8:48 pm

I have a large suitcase, a split board, pump & bar, helmet along with 2 kites packed perfectly for travel.

The only problem is my harness. I currently have a Dakine C1 hard shell harness, and it is a real pain to travel with. I have to carry a separate bag for just the harness since it will not lay flat.

I would really like to find a harness that could be packed along with everything else. Ideally, it would lay flat and not need to be wrapped around anything else. Here is a pic of my setup....

As always, appreciate everyone's help!

Board short harness takes up barely more space than the spreader bar. If you do a lot of powered riding the lack of padding can be a bit rough after a few days, but otherwise a good choice

Thank you for that suggestion - it is perfect for my situation!

Split board in a suitcase, a thing of beauty! I'll do that some day.

my Dakine Renegade packs flat if you remove the bar. Of course it has some memory and wants to curl but it will pack flat and is about 1 " thick in the middle.

My NP gravity seat harness has great support and lies very flat with leg straps unbuckled.

I don't know about your waist size, but my medium Ion CS hardshell rolls quite nicely and fits into my regular 40L carry-on backpack.

I was quite worried about travelling with it as well before purchasing, but it worked itself out alright.

Not exactly  During boarding, you are allowed to wear harness (without metal spreader bar), wetsuit under your cloths and... helmet if desperate for luggage space
Once on board, go to the toilets and put everything in a fabrics bag before the plane take-off.
Your pieces of luggage are not counted when leaving the plane.
