Winds nonexistent right now due to low pressure system.

Tried calling kite shops, no return calls so far.

According to locals, wind is light. people who knows kiting here says they fly 12 meter as their smallest kite.

Am here at Alona beach, launching here is sketchy because of boats

Hey Rey, have you gone to the tip of Panglao at Doljo Beach? I'm wondering if that might be a little more favorable than Alona Beach (wider, side-on winds, less crowded). I'm heading out that way in about 10 days. How much longer are you in Panglao? John

will do some snorkling today then head to Bantayan tonight, catch with cousins, one of them has a boat, might end up staying there if the low pressure system clears up, probably unlikely, you will probably have better luck when you get here. Will head to aSiargao the next few days, I can rent a board there as I am still a foil newbie.

If I connect with cousins in Bantayan, I can forwaed you their info if you want to rent their pump boats, they are fisherman and I believe its off season for them, so they can use some work

Oh and one more thing, Bohol Kitesurfing crew is in Boracay, the information they printed on their website is currently wrong. I visited their shop based on their address, the office they listed is currently being demolished for a new building. It is really frustrating when you plan based on given wrong information. Thanklfully, there’s plenty of other things to do here so all is not lost

Lots of typo and bad grammar as am using my phone to update information.

Hey John (@ loco4viento),

I got your message, will send you a pm once I get a chance to speak with my wife's fishermen relatives in Bantayan just in case you are interested in renting a boat there.

My last report for Bohol, on my way to Siargao. While on a snorkling trip, I bumped into a local kiter. He said during Habagat season (july to september, monsoon, hurricane season) kiting is on the South facing beaches, Alona, beach.

Amihan season, now, kiting is on Doljo, or any North facing beaches.

Balicasag and Virgin islands are year round.

Kiting here is light wind session 10 to 15 knots, and some butter 20 knots.

I rented a boat for a whole day, ended up at Virgin island, brought my kiting gear, wind was around 12 knots I was able to rig my 12 meter but could not do anything with it as the wind was too low for me. I only had a skim board and a foil. I could not foil because the water was too shallow, so I did not have the right equipment for the conditions.

Virgin island is probably your best bet, but shallow, ankle to waist high flat water. Make sure you wear shoes because of sharp corals and lots of sea urchins.

Don't make a mistake on relying on kitesurfing outfits here as they are unreliable. They either do not return your calls or give you wrong information. Not too many people know kiting here so wind locations are still fairly unexplored.

Pay attention to the weather, low pressure system (rains) kills the wind, rains are starting to clear up, so you will have better chances of riding.

You can rent a boat for a whole day, it is inexpensive and they can take you whereever you wnat to go.

Good luck
