.....as much time as I spend outside teaching/riding now, I'd be interested in kitepants just for the sun protection, no matter what the fashion police think. Skin cancer sucks.
+1. I'd use kitepants in a heartbeat for sun protection if I could find 'em. Maybe they'll come back in style (like everything else)......with bell bottoms and wide stripes. Count me in.
Yep, just make them from the same quickdry material as boardshorts already are, just longer. Also worked pretty well against jellyfish stings...

I thought kite pants were more function over fashion. Guys wore them to protect flesh and neoprene from abrasions when getting dragged across the beach after hot launching there Blades.

Cool vid. He reminds of Luciano Gonzales. And notice how radical he makes old school riding look. Alot different from the modern slow lofty so called "airstyle" Alot cooler in the old days IMO. I guess it is because of the speed!

Remember that tarifa jump he did like 17 years ago?!
I seen him out downwind of kitebeach holding onto what looked like a 12m in nuclear winds!

Just found this old Takoon video was still on my hard drive. Featuring Franz Olry & Luciano at Cabarete in 2002 (it was discussed in a couple of threads on Kiteform back then. I just uploaded it on vimeo.
