4 people rode on Delta Hybrids in the final...interesting development for this year (didnt Nick J win on a switchblade last year)
With Height being 70% of the judging I wonder if this is a new trend for this competition, as Kevin and Antonin were going considerably higher then the rest of the C-kite riders
Sam Light: Wave SST
Reno Romeu: North EVO
Antonin Rangin: North EVO
Kevin Langeree: Naish Pivot
Majority of these guys also rode straps and were going for Megaloop board-offs.
I wonder if the less radical/quicker loop of the Delta kite allows them more time and control to focus on the board-off.
Funny cause I have seen Airton Cozzolino throw massive megaloops with his surf board between his legs -> STRAPLESS on a North NEO

Yeah clearly the straps paid off as well. I am assuming the little bit of extra hangtime on the hybrids combined with the boardoffs were a key factor. I still do not understand quite why Richman did not get to the final.
Btw It is pretty astounding to hear the speeds...going into the wave at 40 km/t but doubling it in the mega-loop while doing tricks. Just wow.

I think Mitu and Airton, and some of the other strapless dudes,, should be invited to the KOTA!

Hah. That would be fun. Personally, I think you'd see a huge difference if they were in a head to head heat, but hey why not ehh?

Some great skills at Kota, but airton.. he is absolutely another level of skill imo.
Try learning a strapless 313 and get back to me.

I am sure guys like Kevin, Aaron and Jesse could do it too. Skillled riders all the way.
