I’ve still got my Best Nemesis 21m from 2004 had it out a few years ago pulls like a freight train but a nightmare to relaunch if it hits the water and not easy to self launch so it just stays in the bag now as memorabilia .

I still have memories but not good ones ;-) They were just too big to be useful. Do you recall the 21 (or was it a 23?) North Rhino??? For me it was the learning factor that for light wind a big board is more important than a big kite. Thats why the large sizes in tubes became extinct. But hey, give it a try just for fun. you cant go wrong with that.

Keep in mind that I still have my Nemesis 16 from that time and still use it sometimes. I also have a replacement just in case it really dies - but actually it never even needed a repair over all the years.

Your right about the size of the board being a factor that’s why most LEI’s now don’t go above 17m as these combined with a bigger or wider board work much better. Back then it was thought the bigger the kite the better light wind it would be. I have 2 good memories from back in 2004 which stick in my mind one was in Fuerteventura at flag beach where I had the beach completely to my self and I came in and a girl said to me that’s the biggest kite I have ever seen :naughty: and another was in Exmouth UK where I was the only one out the wind picked up and I was still hanging on while others came out on 12m’s but tbh it did handle quite well when the wind did pick up as I had added a 5th line to it and that made a big difference and yes I never had the kite fail. :thumb:

If you live in an area with very steady wind and shallow water give it a try! As mentioned they are hard to relaunch and the big leading edge used to generate a lot of drag so probably not brilliant upwind. It might be fun just to try it out before deciding if you get rid of it or not!

oh yeah, an added 5th line is a must for safety AND relaunch.

No I don't have any intention of using it. Hell I would be exhausted just pumping it up! But on the discussion of old big kites I'm sure someone had 25m back then. I never saw one but recall ads for it. Can't think of the make though.

Searching naish 50m brings up a few video links. Also mention of a 100m prototype for anyone interested
