wetsuit alteration

Is it possible, to do alterations to a wetsuit? i bought one online, and a little concerned how it may fit. can i shorten the arms or legs etc.

Yep, just cut...

I'm also using a punch bit and making small holes above the ankle. A bit of glue around the cuts helps after.

To make the holes in the ankles, heat up a nail and push it through. Seals it at the same time.

You shouldn't cut your wetsuit to fit. The arms and legs are cone shaped and if you cut either they will be loose at extremities. If you do decide to taylor it, the neoprene cement is quite powerfull as it melts the neoprene to glue the pieces together. It's messy and a pain to work with though.

If it doesn't fit, return it and try again.

I always cut my suits and they have never deteriorated where I cut them. They just wear out after repeated use every couple of years.

To make hole at the ancels use a 4-5 pin fork. Make it red gloving and make the holes. No more Elephant legs due to water inside the suit. Did it for years, works perfect and made no unintened harm to the wetsuits.
