I am from Norway, west coast. I use 11m and 8m. During summer mostly 11m and during winter mainly 8m. Through out the year 70% 11m and 30% 8m.
how many sessions do you average per year? i was just talking to some friends from stavanger and they said usually only 2 mnd/år they have wind and it isn't raining/too cold
I try to get out as often I I can. Normally it is at least once a week. May is a good wind month averaging probably 15 days of wind (if you can travel between different spots). Summer months can be pretty god as well. During autumn the storm season starts and there is plenty of strong wind. Everything depends on when do you consider it is good to get out. I try to kite at every possible opportunity, whereas my girlfriend only wants to kite when it is warm, sunny and when she can use her 10m2 kite so the amount of days that are "kiteable" for her is quite small.
The years average is nowhere near the amount guys in Brazil clock in, but it is enough to keep progressing.

I remember that in the "old days" I had 16m, 11.5m & 8.5m Airblasts & my 16m Airblast was my most used kite. But at that time I was still often windsurfing in stronger winds. In 2006 I got a quiver of Waroos: 16m, 12m, 9m. The 12m was by far my most used kite. After a couple of years added a 7m Waroo for stronger winds. In 2011 I switched to kiting only with a SB & since then I would say my 9m & 7m Cabos are my most used kites. My "light wind" kites are 12m & 10m NRGs - much more powerful for the size than Cabos. I now rarely use the 12m NRG, since I find anything of over 14 knots I can use the 10m.

180 lbs. My local spot is Lake Erie. I would say last year was 15% 5m, 25% 7m, 30% 9m, 20% 10m, 10% 12m. Cabarete, in Dec & Jan: 20% 12m, 30% 10m, 50% 9m. Could really use an 11m wave kite for Cabarete - I would probably use it 60% of the time there in the winter.

In the last 12 months-foil only, except for one Ttip day of 12mtr use, but I do intend to use the Ttip more often(maybe)

Flag beach Fuerteventura for 8 weeks- November to April.sailed every day except one when it was mental(nuts)
6mtr reo 40%
9mtr reo 50%
15mtr breeze 10%

North west England(New Brighton, fleetwood) and north west Wales(Rhosneiger-Newbrough-Lligwy).average 3 days/week 20 miles covered on average each session(gps watch user)
6mtr reo 20%
8mtr reo 10%
9mtr reo 60%
10mtr reo (used twice only)
12mtr reo (used 3 times only)
15mtr breeze used 5 or 6 times and now sold as my light wind skill has improved on the Foil and I now have a larger front wing.

the 9 mtr is my favourite kite on 24mtr lines when I sail at New brighton-Lligwy or Newbrough all where there is more sea chop or flattish conditions,
When at Rhosneiger which can be very wavy, then my 6mtr is my favourite.
When at Flag Beach which gets great waves, my favourite kite is again my 6mtr, otherwise if flatish conditions prevail then my 9 is my choice.

I do love a session on my TTip, but I never seem to want to use it anymore, this is sad as I used to love a hard session in the waves on my 10 or 12 mtr, but now I can use my foil in the waves which just seems so much more challenging and more fun.

You really don’t have to feel threatened by ppl who get their stoke off the wind and not off the water... it’s the beauty of kiting. Some prefer a super powered kite on a TT & that’s OK, really, you don’t have to keep up. Enjoy what you enjoy and don’t try to belittle others for their choices. I never see guys or gals who ride overpowered bashing wave- or foil-riders, but I do see a lot of it the other way around... weird
