Video of Ram Air Inversion Disaster

Postby Pump me up » Fri Mar 09, 2018 10:47 pm

Despite the LIES of ram lovers, ram air kites have innumerable problems caused by a lack of internal rigidity. One of these is a tendency to flop, twist, and invert, leading to DISASTERS like this:

Not sure I see a "disaster" here.

On a scale of 1-10, that is a 0.68 disaster. Definitely a LOWER CASE disaster.

The upside is if PMU has woken from hibernation maybe we get to see more of the SOUL soon?

A little more effort on the pilot's behalf (an over bar yank the left leader at 1:22) would go a long way towards avoiding such horrible, horrible disasters.

Please... Go dry your kite out, try again, and stop crying like a little baby

Ranks right up there with the Titanic as a monumental disaster. That poor kiter, his life will never be the same. Oh the horror. 😱

The wind looks very light. I am guessing about 10kn. Aren't most kites struggling with LIFT at this wind speed?

Wind looks very marginal and most kites would be unstable.
