Nothing too bad, but I'd like your general opinion.



Is it fair from a shop to advertise a pair of 2016 boots
with the pic of the 2017 model?
Clicked on the image, bought the product... recieved the 2016 model, had a closer look,
and yes it was written 2016...

Now if you imagine you are looking for those boots via Google images
like I did by browsing on the search "H3 Cabrinha 2017"
(before you read this post )
and you think you found them, honnestly do you check the year?
Or do you go for it according to the pic?

I spend too much time debating what gear, which model year and what color I want so by the time I order I know exactly what I want and how it should look like.
If there's any ambiguity I call the shop and ask them to check the actual stock. Usually they do and that's part of a difference dealers make.

Stores make mistakes on their websites allocating wrong picture to an item. It happens often and judging by silliness of mistakes I consider them honest mistakes.
If it's really important to you - call them, they should either take it back or replace.

I spend a lot of time checking gear, look, color. Everything matters for me.

That's why I was surprised to see 2016 where I saw 2017. I even thought I was becoming a bit demented...
In fact it is a bit more complex

As I try to analyse the situation in real time, I found in my mails the order that clearly shows 2017.
See above, you will I hope underestand straight away
Someone changed it in the mean time.

and I paid for a 2017 model.

Okay fair enough If its been changed then you have a legitimate claim and should not waste more time. Contact the store and ask them to make it right.

I've done that, but so far it hasn't gone far...
I cannot show you the exchange of mails that would reveal the name of the shop which I'm
of course avaoiding at the moment.

But being in France, I had to pay 20 bucks of shipment + 100 bucks of tax.
I will survive, but I hate being "wronged" as you said above.

Have seen so many disgruntled consumer complaints on here over the years and so many times its such a lame attempt to cover up user error or just get free shit by badmouthing a shop or brand. This aint one of those times.

If the pic is of 2017 and the text for 2016, there is already an issue on the retailer side. If they confirm an order for a 2017 and ship a 2016.... They are absolutely 100% in the wrong from any angle you look at it. Could be an honest mistake, but if it were they should literally jump at the chance to correct it. If they don't. Name and shame my friend with my full worthless blessing.

Kudos for not throwing them under the bus right away, but waiting for some feedback.

If they don't do the right thing, they have jumped the shark.
