The Kiteboarder magazine might have something to say about that (TKB)...

IMO, the success of ION is, that it is independent from other kite brands...a Cabrinha rider wouldn't want to wear a North lycra...but an ION is ok.
Now making all North to ION will have that problem...
So I doubt ION will happen.

The name was decided before this thread even started.

Second to that, totally unuseful to speculate about the name etc. here. They do what they think is the best outcome under the legal framework. People will buy the stuff from them if they continue to be good quality even if someone might think the brand name is lame. What I'd be more interested in is who the designers will be, Ken and Sky etc. That's the real capital and what matters.

someone mentioned before that only the brand name changes, not the team or anything else.
So, same same, but different

I've spent a little time searching trademarks as a result of this thread thinking perhaps, B&M had another option but it appears that they are all in on duotone.
It would be interesting to hear how the dealers took it.......
Interesting enough the N graphic trademark does not belong to B&M but NKB does.
I can conjecture that finding a trademark name these days might not be as easy as we think. So B&M used something that they already had the trademark for.
I think they should never have let Mistral lapse
.
We should find out soon enough when the new duotone rebel and click bars are announced.
