... and I'm pretty sceptical that what Airton is doing is easier than what the wake style boys are doing.
Im pretty sure winning at the foil gold
Cup is pretty difficult too, but by and large it’s not that hard to simply get around a race course.
There are incredibly talented kiters doing very different and difficult things at the top of their respective fields. Just saying that as a distinct field, wake still requires more power, and on average has more bodily consequence than even what Airton is doing.

and if we can’t have substance, we go for the name & the avatar, I see... more prepubescent creepy stuff
As usual, I’m not entirely sure what that is supposed to mean, but you had no avatar at the time I posted. Why the change to a third persona? It didn’t take more than a couple lines to recognize you. You got your own special kinda somethin somethin I guess. Switched to Naish heh? Thought it was “Core forever”. I bet a girl eventually gets tired of yellow.

1000s of kids can do mobes today glued to their board, very few can land any strapless tricks at all.
i snapped my ankle doing strapless freestyle, been smashing myself doing wakestyle stuff for years ( recently retired! i think..) never getting an injury like that.
wakestyle was fun in the begining but when riders thought it was a good idea to just straight copy the rich kids sport of wakeboarding. it became boring.. use the extra dimensions the kite gives u in creative ways imo
shame leucate didnt happen with new format..

Breaking an ankle sucks but your talking about N =1. Besides, you yourself have said numerous times that you moved from doing wake style into strapless freestyle to lessen the body strain. Just didn’t pan out.
Your arguing for arguments sake. strappless trickery has definitely reached the level of wizzardry, but you can’t compare the loads from relatively dangle mediated airs with a board you can toss away with your toes to a no whip powered pop with a pass.
Loads of kiters that lack the youth/fitness to practice unhooked freestyle can land strapless airs and get into tricks.
Expand your sample to the 1000 kids throwing mobes and try to scrape together a thousand more doing strapless freestyle and see where the surgeries and braces start to add up.

more and more strapless freestyle wont involve dangling, i wasnt dangling, i ride very fast, always have done. powered/ speed strapless is natural progression and i am sure the next generation will want to take it further thanks to pioneers, iain aldridge/ airton for example. take it as a cautionary tale... the ankle roll.. to add to the knees!
we are seeing a transition from dangle strapless to full speed/ powered just as freestyle kiteboarding had... keeping it progressing/ interesting and challenging with risk.
wakestyles problem is in 5+ years.. progress = the 319
it might be that strapless is too hard... we see.. seen hundreds of riders do mobes in real life, i hardly ever even seen any rider do even a strapless non grabbed front roll consistanly with speed.

Ahhhhh....... We are now down to the d--k measuring, aren't we?
Let me make you all feel inadequate. Windsurfing.
Most advanced (non-pro's) windsurfers have more skill in their little pinky than all of our pro's entirety combined. So keep talking how hard you work or going on about the "skill" you have in your particular kiting discipline. Many of us, including me, gave up on windsurfing because it was too hard to reach the top levels of windsurfing that deliver the same euphoric high you can get after your first 10 sessions in kiting.
This is why wake style is dead(ish). Those of us that came from windsurfing found kiting more laid back while still feeling, and looking (voyeuristic), cool. And many of us had that notion when we made the leap into kiting that something was missing - the challenge. But then we said "screw the challenge of windsurfing, this kiteboarding thing is fun. Going from windsurfing to kiteboarding was like standing around all day drinking 3.2 beer trying to get drunk, then someone showing up with a big bottle of Vodka. You no longer had to work for your fix. And once you (as in a huge majority of kiters out there) fall into the trap of "not valuing the challenge".....well, if you are smart enough to follow to this point, you know where this leads us.....or just read the thread title again.

Wake style matured over two decades. Mobes with a kite are 18 years old. The 1000 kids that can throw them now were being born when Lou was just starting.
Ian and Airton are pretty different. One is progressive surf, one is in pursuit of strapless freestyle. Ian's and Rebstock and the like already have a growing tribe across the world. It will grow well enough without much need for comps or the like.
Airton is into trickery. Competition strapless freestyle. It's amazing, but well see if it catches on. Like you said. Not many kids into that yet. Your an early adopter, the front of the bell curve. Charging it enough to risk life and limb, but I bet when the peak of the strapless freestyle bell curve arrives to ruin your progressive vibe, they will find it takes a lot less power, bodily risk and commitment to start into 180's kick flips and 360's than to anti up to the power required for a mobe.
You've told us about shifting to strapless for less strain enough times that you cant change your tune for arguments sake now. Getting into strapless freestyle requires no massive risk or commitment. 99 % of wipeouts leave you no worse for wear. You may can take pride in being the exception.

I never wind surfed but most of the old fellas around here quit windsurfing because they would see me boosting in 12 knots while they were slogging and said "The hell with slogging!" Hydrofoils have since changed the entire game of light wind fun and I think it's time for the windsurfers that came to kiting because of the low wind potential to get back on the sail with a hydrofoil. Of course you would have to give up your compact car and buy a van again . . . I love foiling. I need to put a foil on my SUP still.

I don’t know if wakestyle is the
hardest!
Wakestyle ... kinda like measuring penis size, which I’m a fan of, really!
Don’t let this
rub you the wrong way please!
