Okay So here is the line mount test. I mounted it on a Beastmount V2, If you use a Beastmount. Be sure to tighten all screws so there is minimal to no movement in the the arms or cross bar. Changes in the mounts geometry can cause issues with the Quark.

First thing I will say, the quark does nothing for overall stabilization, but does keep the horizon level.

When using a line mount, be sure to put it on the line in the right spot. Pinching line can impact he GoPro and the stabilizer and cause issues.

Underpowered is not a good time to use the quark on a line mount, it is heavy and the lack of tension on the lines that happens from time to time is not your friend.

The quark does not like to be overhead. When using it on a line mount, I suggest you start recording when the kites is low and stop when it is low. Overhead causes a slight vibration, like it does not know where it is. Transition are good as long as they are done quickly.

Nice review but a non issue for me since Flysurfer bars use a mini 5th line. Glad to see it's a well built piece though, got mine waiting for me once I get back stateside.

I got mine towards the end of May and test flew at my local sports ground it in virtually no wind. There's been zero wind since. I managed a couple of downloops to keep the tension on the lines and got some gopro footage.
It looks promising. However, with the flaw that you raised in your video, I did wonder then how I was supposed to level it. Are you able to share in more detail exactly what changes you made to it please. A close up photo might do.
I have access to a drill press at work. Thanks

Seemingly they made the line attachment work like Beatmount now ?! Adjustable angles & free floating Single Frontline Safety ? But I‘m happy that original Beastmount is working, so I‘ll be sticking to it ..

Here, I went through all the line mounts I have access to and show which ones work. Line mount video coming soon.
thanks for the tests Rogue ! Unfortunately I own a quite new Beastmount V1 which doesn´t fit as attachment looks sitting lower in the "U" than V2.
Could you please check the amount of overlap and do you think sanding part of the BM mounting leg or probably of Quarks respective part (or both overlapping parts) could provide for the gap needed ?

thanks !!

I waited 7 months for mine.

delighted after first session and disappointed after the last one (second).
My bad luck or a problem with waterproof quality.

My kite fell in the water. I was drifting 5-6 minutes to a shore. once I reached 1m deep water while drifting my lines got slacken and I lost the quark.
It got away itself - no kidding.
Then I checked that a bit of slack an lines allows the mount to release out of the lines easily.

There was water coming out of a LED light and a warning on usb port of too high voltage when I connected it to a port.

I have to say that the idea is great and I loved it once it did worked.
However would recommend to use a line leash just in case.

Contacted the manufacturer but they never encountered such an issue and no chance for any guarantee replacement. Only a discount if I buy next one.

It was expensive testing of quark for me. One minute out of four hour sessions cost me 1 USD ish ;)

Wonder to know if anybody had similar issue please.

The manufacturer stated: The Waterproofing is a protection if its get wet or submerged for a quick period of time.
My answer is that EVERY kiter using Quark will drop a kite to the water sooner or later and may drift more than "quick period of time".
What then?
BTW.
"Quick period of time" is perfect definition to avoid ANY trouble ;)

NB. Do not plan to buy the next one for a long time...

Just got mine today.

Had to test it with my U-Go mount as the one from Noir Matter was broken on delivery. Luckily I saw the crack before putting the camera on and going out.

So far so good. It does what it is supposed to do. I am a bit worried about the thing not being really waterproof.

That is sad. Basically means its only splashproof.

You simply cannot use it in any watersport activity that way.
That is not only for use on a kite, but for almost anything.

How are you supposed to use it surfing?
Paddle with one arm, while the other arm keeps the camera out of the water?
