BTW cheap economy & inflation go hand in hand; the central banks call the shots, not the producers. A healthy economy is run by producers, not banks & governments.

Or is that too logical?
Oh, the Australian economy is almost driven by banks and government....

Not bad economy tho ;)
then why are you bitching about kite prices 🙄

last I checked you were part of the Commonwealth, the oldest global economy... But with Thurnbull & Julie spending like there’s no tomorrow you may not be able to afford your kites mich longer... take your smirk to the bank

Just to be clear: being part of the commonwealth means you are run by aristocrats, not by banks & government... not sure why you don’t know that 🙄

I thought you've said the economy is run by producers?

Now is run by aristocracy? What's next? The Force?

Anyways, the brand new gear will never make a better kiter. And that's the only reason not to buy new gear for me.

Infact, I know I'm better kiterwith my own DIY boards simply coz pushing it to the max. And that means 720 or triple rotations with the transitions. Now, the board cost to make is 30$ max, but the value is 10 if not 100 times that.

Hence Investing money in where the mouth is, this means water time, is the only way to be a better kiter.

Sure, enjoying a brand new kite is nice. Till put on a tree.

You attacked my post & I just pointed out your cultural & historic legacy, which is a huge part of production! Hong Kong wouldn’t have been what it is without the commonwealth, so there is something to it.

You made a dumb argument in favor of banks & government & against producers & I called you on it.

Look at Venezuela: they broke the backs of their producers & now have nothing to eat, because they believed the false promises of banks & governments. In fact Latin America suffers from banks & governments more than anyone else. Brazilians still remember the fruitful, peaceful Franciscan communities that were pillaged & trashed by banks & governments. See “the Mission,” back when De Niro was working, not dicking around!! You can go a long way with some land, your bare hands & a Bible, look at the Hiltons, simple peasants from Norway who had nothing but some land and a Bible: what America was built on! So keep your banks & governments.

Then build your own boards & buy second hand but don’t tell me your country is run by banks & government! That’s just stupid. And some people like new material & appreciate quality advertising, so don’t tell them how to live their lives just bc you feel threatened & can’t compete. Let me see you build your own kite!

I don’t know Australia, never been, but I did know a ton of Australians in LA. They weren’t running from a good economy that was kind to producers, so maybe you are closer to Venezuela than I thought... thanks for the heads up!

Chill down ...no one is attacking you, this should be light hearted conversation.

Of course I'll build my own kite, it's in the process :) thanks for reminding me to push it even more.

Umm, I actually sell my boards for big bucks! Some people appreciate good hand made boards. Talking competing and financing this expensive hobby. I can buy any kite I want, no probs, plenty of disposable income. But that's not the point for me. Again, for me.

Also the HF finished ! Ha! Competing again!

And please ask your Aussie friends how was this country run by the government and still is, how we have a free health and social benefits, etc etc
Provided by the government, which is more like Scandinavian countries than anything else. Aristocracy in Australia?
Come and see. We are an convict country, far far from any aristocracy. We despise any to be fair. We call anyone a mate. A mate ship is what defines us.

I am no Aussie by birth and lived for 32 years in socialism. I think I'm qualified to talk what is and what isn't a government run economy. Something others were just reading about.

Back to prices...
I just smile on 1000Euros boards...2000€, no worries. Whatever. A show ponies boards. Nothing else for 99% of kiters.

600€ for a new bar? Omg. A hype, nothing more. Soon it will be 800 or 1000€. Not my problem they spent a lot on marketing. Take a Mike Labs HF, he does not need marketing.

Laughing stock....for this sport to survive the prices must drop, not rise.
