I'm 6'0, 225 lbs and I ride an 8m, 11m and 14m. Covers me from 12 to 35 kts. I have three different size boards that cover me
in that range. I can easily hold down the 14m in 20 kts with a small board. If I need anything bigger than a 14
that means it beer drinking time for me. Light wind kiting is too much work if you're over 200 lbs.
Thanks for the input. What’s your board size range?

Hi I currently ride a Naish Cult 10.5 and 15 from 2010. Looking to get possibly at 10 and 14 switchblade. The majority of the wind Around me is 10 to 18. Any advice which two kites I should? Would the 14 be just as good as the 15 given the fact that it’s new technology?
with your existing kites, wind strength you mentioned and your body size I'd say you're not riding LW much.
11m Rally + 15m Turbine would be a great combination to cover sub-10 to lower-mid-20's
14m would be good to cover lower 10's, especially for jumping and tricks but 14m won't do sub-10
I advise against 12's as they're slow bastards and 10m would be too small for you.
For winds of mid-20s till 30 grab a 9m Rally/Turbine and it will boost you 40' easily.
If you're overly brand loyal I'd say Pivot is a nice alternative to Rally

I prefer the 15m Contra over the 14m SB
It doesn't have the heavy feeling of the 14m SB

Shinn King Gee 146x46, great board for 200 pounders, Jimmy Lewis model 3 143x43, great for chop and waves,
Axis Vanguard 137x42 as my small board.

You have weight. This means you need power! Specially when you want to jump.
With 12-20 knots /mph I advise to get a 12 and 16.
Remember, you just started to jump...this means you will get better every day now. And for this you want more and more power.
You know, I do sooo many tricks...and guess what I do when I have no power? No tricks. Understand?
I have about 97 kg, not sure, but about 200 lbs? Just an example, I ride an 18 only...up to 30 knots. Because, I want/need power to have fun. My level is high, so I am not a comparison for you, just to say don't fear a 12 and 16...you will love them.
Enjoy!

At the wind you are looking at 14 and 11 Naish Pivot is a kite that it is impossible not to love. It overlaps fine with a 10 too, but it has great high end so riding the 11 at 18 is no problem. If you want more range out of it, 10 would be killer. Btw the 10 is such a good jumper.
Btw I liked the Cults too.

my advice for Cabrinha gear would be
11m Switchblade + 15m Contra.
the 14m is nice for lower 10s, just as 14m Rally but it's rather a regular kite for a heavier guy and 15m LW would cover that range plus open sub-10s range too

I’m 6’1 200lbs
I used to ride a Rally 12m and a Turbine 17m. I recently switched to Core because the one I demo’d handled gusts so well and had great depower.
Now I’m riding XR4s in 9m / 12m / 19m. The 19m feels like it turns faster than the 17m Turbine, and it’s much less grunty

I'm looking to upgrade my sb 14m 2017 to new Contra 15m. Currently have sb 10m which I really like in 20-30kts+ Do you think gap between 10m sb and 15m contra is too great? Currently 14m sb allows me to ride from 13/14-20kts and then I take 10m sb for 20-30kts+ If wind is changing I would change board between 138x43 and 143x48.
With sb 14m and sideshore wind where it's lighter at the beach, my sb 14b can fall from sky and it can be picked up by gust, It's dangerous and lighter control 15m should be more stable?
I don't want to get third kite as I had 7m and never use it...
My weight is around 200lbs and I'm planning to ride between 14-30kts with my two boards 138x43 and 143x48

15m Contra is a great LW kite. A larger than 33% gap between your regular and LW kite is ok too.
You will love the 15m Contra
