OMG - kite surfers unknowingly develop a new product...
No, double-braid line has been around a lot longer than kiting, used in high-performance sailing, on paragliders, & more.

Bit offtopic, but isn't dyneema more abrasion resistant? Double braided with polyester is a cost saving measure right?

Yes it would be. Best line has dyneema/spectra sheath.

Every single kite brand has their issues. When I first started kiting, I expected brand support but quickly found that it was minimal especially for consumables like bars and lines. Thats when my focus changed from complaining about it to doing something. None of the gear I use today is standard manufacturer gear due to shortcomings and personal preferences. if I have an issue that cannot be resolved in a timely fashion, I fix it myself or move on.
The guy with a "Mikes Lab" product gets it! But I bet he has not had to fix anything with "Mikes Lab" written on it.
MikeLab issues are repaired by Mike and Camet Boards are repaired by Brian Camet. Two of the finest individuals I have has the privilege to meet. Onus is on me for shipping costs.

Believe me, I am leaning towards this///
I still have 3 relatively new CORE kites XR4/5 that don't like low V bar.
i am using XR5 10 on the SS bar - loves it very much))

I have been following these "Core" threads hoping for an answer to one question. Why Core US has no spare parts in the US?
Core does stock parts within the US. The trick is finding the source.
Here's one example:
https://321kiteboarding.com/collections ... pare-parts

Over my years of kiteboarding and also working as a manufacture representative (including within the kite industry), the one thing that I’ve found to be beneficial for customers of “import” brands is to know who the distributor is and their relationship to the manufacture. It’s also VERY GOOD to know what the distributor does in addition to distributing… that is if they do anything else.

For “import” kiteboarding brands available within the US, knowing this information can save one a lot of hassle when it comes to getting parts, warranty, and service.

Here’s a basic list of some of the distributors and/or retailers operating within the USA and the associated kiteboarding brands they're supporting (warning: this may no longer be current):

Adventure Sports, Florida – Cabrinha/NPSurf
KitePaddleSurf, Washington – Blade
Live2Kite, California – Axis
Pro Kitesurf/Kiteboarding.com, Texas – Ozone & Crazyfly
Session Sports, S. Carolina – RRD

321 Kiteboarding, Florida – Core
(family relationship to the US distributor)

CaliKites, California – Duotone/North/Ion
(family relationship to B&M USA)

Bay Area Kitesurf, California – F-One/Manera (direct sales available)

Boards & More USA – Washington – Duotone/North/Ion (no direct sales)

If anyone can add or confirm the info on this list, please do. I think it will be very helpful for all US buyers moving forward. :thumb:

So after spending $148 on bar parts (depower, safety, rotator, incerts, SSF18, etc) withing the last 4months today my center line snaps on the jump
It breaks right at the stitching..
So I guess I am looking at another $200 worth of maintenance.. all within one year..
Do you guys feel that it's normal?

Not unless you are riding 280+ days a year ?!?!? Can’t speak for anyone else but I think I ride pretty hard about 150-170 days a year and all my bars from many different companies have all lasted at least 2 years and most longer after they have been sold cheap. Maybe I don’t ride as hard as I think or maybe it’s because I rinse my bars at the start of each session?

not sure that rinsing would have helped with a center line.. and also I am not sure how you would rinse that particular portion (top of high Y) without dunking the kite, which I don't think is a good idea..
