I have a V4 5 m², bought it this winter... not used it until now.

Just read on this forum that the 5 m² V4 is not very good... to fast and not balanced... is this also you opinion ?

there are many threads about the Reo V4 5mtr, I was thinking about getting one to fit in with my V4 Reo collection of 6/7/8/9 mtr,
after reading the many reviews I did not bother, bad reviews, not one good one.
google it.
the 6/7/8/9/10/12 V4 Reo kites are all good, its just the 5mtr that seems odd.

yes especially when the winds is above 30 to 35 knts...usually this wind is gusty too...and that is horor on the V4 5m it jerks back and forward, but in an very unpleasant way...( 23m lines, 45 cm bar))

I have the V5 now...and its much smoother than the old V4.. 5m. loved the other V4's

I have flown the V4 6m ...which was as the V4's numbers above are, pity the 5m was screwed up a bit.

I fly my kites at factory settings, nothing changed to the bridle, only my flyline setting is the last one mi barpressure fast turing

Thanks for you answer...

It sounds like something is really wrong with that kite or the bridle...
Did you try to fly it in slightly depowered mode ? sometimes a kite with too long front lines flys like that...

I'll give my kite a try and will evaluate afterwards ? did it fly better with less wind ? (25-30 knots)

Do you fly it with a surfboard ?

thx ,

yes tried it slightly depowered, works a bit better, but on a 5m its not that good, as you get underpowered quickly
yes Directional waveboard is all I have, different sizes depending on wind and on water surface

not to push, but v5 is better
cheers

I had the same experience with the V4 in 5 m². Very unpleasant kite, zero grunt / sheet&go, had to be flown very fast always to generate some power. And very unforgiving in gusty winds (which is always the case in the 5m² windrange).
All other Reo sizes V3/V4 are really perfect.

I exchanged it with the 5 m² Slingshot Wave SST (2017). Totally happy now :D

probably that the V5 is better, but I don't buy kites new in that size... I only use them 1 or 2 times/season so it's not really worth the investment...
too much devaluation for not enough use :-)...

I'll evaluate after one use, if it's too bad I'll try to find a V3 ...
