Moorea

I know there's a few threads here and there, but does anyone have any kite experience or information regarding Moorea in Tahiti? Thinking about heading there for my 10 year anniversary next year, mostly to SUP surf, but I'll take the kite gear along as well, probably in the October/November range.

I kited Moorea & Tahiti 17 years ago in October. I had a FLexifoil Blade 4.9, could launch it anywhere. It isn't (or at least wasn't) super ideal waveriding. It did get windy. It's just tough figuring out where to launch & land. Beaches are tight, the wind direction can vary. There is razor sharp coral up to the waterline in some spots. Believe or not there were local kiters even back then. I believe they were doing downwinders from somewhere around Hapiti to Sofitel.

The surf is very, very heavy. I would definitely look into it further before supping anywhere. I have surfed 3 islands in Tahiti so I know what I'm talkign about. Good luck!
