Alright lads I'm looking for a strapless surf board for crap on shore days. I don't like none of that dopey jumping about carry on. Just want a proper surf under my feet. Just looking for recommendations thanks

Not the best conditions for "surfing", In onshore conditions the waves tend to break early, so you get lines of white water, and not much slope to actually surf on, (depending on size.
A short wide Quad would work well. Short so it will be very twitchy, turn quick to snap off the top of any unbroken faces you might find. Wide so it will have plenty of glide (surf feel). Quad will help in getting upwind quicker, so you can get out the back to find some clean waves.
something like this shape,

or narrower if you want to punch out through that white water easier.

Agree with both of the above. Rode a little quad fish for about six years before the foil. It was great in crap waves. Still have it, but never use it. I wait for more wind and use a lower volume board these days.

Any of the small round nose fish variants on the surf market are great kite boards in grom sizes.
That being said, when my surfboard breaks, Im getting something like the one in the first response.

You should really ride that fish as a twin with the fronts instead of the backs, when kiting you don't need need the stability the rear fins provide and they just make the board feel way too locked in.

Just an internet pic of the same board. I've always ridden it quad. Tail breaks out on demand. Tacks with an easy shuvit. Your right, would be super loose as a twin, but its plenty fast as is. Pretty flat rocker. Great board in junk surf. Jumped it so many times, its pretty much a soft top now too!

As long as it's less than head high, I'd recommend a OR Mako 150 or a Shinn Speedball W18 (1014 or later model, with the stepped tail. There may be a few left for sale here and there). Insane fun.
