Thats sorry to hear, I do not expect a long life for Woo anymore. Price drop after a few months to €169 is not a good sign in my opinion.
Some people also having problems with the smart watch, leaking mount and Woo's that went off during sessions, the last one is solved i think.
Too bad because there are opportunities for a perfect device with for example a display and GPS etz.
I think the measuring part is already quite well developed, only add above mentioned features and I am a buyer.
Hopefully Woo will add or another new player will appear on the market soon.

TBH I dont think a new player would enter soon. Look at the history of devices coming in.
- With intro all new and good
- then people start comparing devices and start complaining about accuracy
- then first bugs/claims pop up
- Shortly after they will solve most initial complaints
- Then 2nd version is released or promoted
- after that the biggest target group is already supplied and the business starts loosing money
- support slowly starts to decrease
- after a while no replies and company ends

Might even be that PIQ will be the big winner as they are not only in there for the Kite/water sports.

Long story short I think there is not enough money to make this a good business case! Once you bought the product there are no further earnings

Woo's problem is the business model. You sell the device for 169USD and that's it. Then you need to re-sell the device again after year or two but with what gains. 30% higher jumps? Or better mount? I'd not be interested.

IRL you need steady monthly income so instead they should have sold monthly 15USD service incl. hardware which would be paid in 3 months and then it is about profit for company and able to develop services more. And cover the cost of running the business.

Xensr was superior product - 10Hz GPS and software support for kiting, surfing, mountain biking, alpine sports, wing suit flying, even white water kayaking to name few supported sports. With GPS their sport range was so wide. But their business model sucked as well with selling one device and then no income from the user.

AFAIK PIQ is running with same model. So I don't expect them to survive long.

THat is prolly why Woo tried to enter snow sports market which is probably much larger. Altho there is not so much need for acceleration tracker (except for those who do snowpark freeestyle and maybe freeride) and a GPS based device would have a wider audience.

Woo has had a firmware update lately. Maybe the company is developing something new - for a broader audience, like PIQ (which has imho much lower user base than woo in kite scene).

P.S. Adding gps and a board tracker would be a nice feature - hard to engineer from both mechanical and energy management point of view.

I would glady pay like 5$ a month to have a frequently updated app and a reactive support...
