Happy Carlos Mario is in...he has a high chance of winning.
I dunno, he looks like he only weighs about 55 kg, he might get blown off the beach!

In one topic we're talking about danger of extreme conditions and about not risking you life for a show, and in another we praise those who do and who set bad examples to those dying in category 1.
Bad landing from 20m height is not much different from riding wild in 45 knots.

Anything else then a winner named Carlos Mario or Liam Whaley would be disappointing.
They are far above the others but big names sell, that's why Hadlow and Langeree are still in the game.
Every Competition with decisions only by judging are steerable....
Hmmmm this guy

Did anyone see the injury Steven Akkersdijk suffered recently when his foil got caught in his lines and a wave hit his kite and slammed him into the foil? Dear god it looked like someone tried to slice his foot off for a meal. If I was him I'd take this year off. The stitching was on his IG account and was sickening.

For sure his name in the list will have the established riders a bit worried... as you say his freestyle is on another level, interested to see what he can do with kiteloops! No doubt gota be one of if not the favourite imo.

I'm not convinced Jerrie Van De Kop, Ruben Lenten and Sam Light should be given automatic entery every year. These guys are great riders still, but they should be in a video vote category.
Great to see Posito made it into this years competition. My money is on Liam Whaley, he looked brilliant last year and should have won it.

Again: for average Joe.
These are pros who live from it. They know the risk.
