Kiteloop Advice Needed

So I've become consumed by kiteloops , frontroll backroll kiteloops but the other day wind picked up and I depowered my kite a lot and while kitelooping noticed that it was not responding nearly as well .

I understand that changing the A.O.A effects how the kite flys but didn't realise how much it affected my kiteloops. I asked a fellow kite instructor and he says he only ever depowers slightly otherwise it's no good for loops ( Megaloops) .


Any advice on this is greatly appreciated

Two choices 1 -rerig down a size 2- Don't depower,try a really quick loop at first to see that its not as bad as you fear. Soon you'll be waiting for the high gusts to loop,not the lulls! And please commit, lack of commitment is the enemy!

Kite turns slower when depowered. When going for a loop, commit to full power and full turn. Anything less is actually harder.

More depower = less yank and less kite catching you after the loop. At least on my kites anyway. Only depower an inch or two.
