Probably the 18 Toro. At least that's my impression from reading a lot of internet chatter. Why compare it to the 16 Toro? The 18 Toro is high aspect too.

The 20m AERO pulls real hard in light winds and with the right jumping style i guess the air time could be pretty big....

However the 2003 AERO is meant to turn even faster than the X2 so the 20m 2003 AERO could very well be THE lightwind jumping kite.......

EXCEPT OF COURSE THE PSYCHO WHICH WILL PROBABLY BE THE BEST NO ARGUMENT!!!

If a kite has more low end it loses top end. No kite can have an amazing top end and still be good at the bottom end! (unless you make it faster, so you can work the low end of the kite)...
Every kite is a compromise, a foil with that much range would not pull like a truck in low wind, it would zip around to get you going...

I don't like working ANY kite in lightwinds....

I ruins the occasion...

The 20m AERO park it and forget it mentality I are really starting to like... totally different to the complicated flying style of the C Quads....

I don't have the 18m so it doesn't matter if it parks in 8 knots or not....

I think the TORO would be a better bet for light winds... the X2's have to be flown real fast to get that power out of them.... the TORO should have that deep down power so important in light winds..... like the AERO.

I have a 20m X2 and I think it is as good as a big kite can be. The issue with bog kites is their speed. A big grunty kite that creates lots of lift will also create lots of drag, so it will be hard to get going on. I am not keen on the small X2's but in the bigger sizes the shallow draft, high aspect and low drag gets these kites moving fast to create plenty of power. And they turn and jump like an old 13.5.

The Toro may be 'Gruntier' but it doesn't mean it will get you going in less wind. It just means it will pull harder and more sideways once you get going and have power.

Got an 18 X2, tried it for the first time in the weekend, it pulls very well, I was able to get planing in 6-8 knots on a 146cm tray, (the wind was at the point where the kite would only stay in the sky while moving it around)..
in one more knot I was going upwind.
