Hi Guys,
Beside the skill that is needed, anybody tried a board that will help more in going up wind. Easy to control and have got the ease edging feature. I'm kiting now on a Kitesurfer directional that is doing fine but not all the way. Planning to buy a new board. Any suggestions from your experience?
Thanx,
Mo

our 155 and 144 rides that way.
The 155 is a beginner board and aslo for heavier people.
Unfortunately the review on the 155 will be out in 4 weeks in the new
http://www.kite-boarding.de magazine, so their is no official test yet.
If you can wait, you won't do anything wrong.

Hey Mo.
Where are you from?, What is the wind range in your area? what do you ride? how much do you weight? I am 75Kg, ride on AB with winds 15-20 knots, The best board for bigginers intermediates, is Autopilot.

the loose ax boards go upwind by themselves!
if that is your only concern, try one of those.
the slingshot skate series are easy upwinders, too.

might i suggest you build yourslef a plywood board before giving any of these guys your money. long story short, built plywood board, tried it without any fins and it didnt even have strap on it the first run. amazingly, it went upwind better than any board on the beach. so well that orders sre being taken ofr the board. most anything can go upwind if you find it's sweetsspot and ride it.

I'm 70 Kg with 18 X2. I tried the Autopilot but it somehow sinks when you go upwind!! I think the wind is enough! I need a good upwinder!
Ciao,
Mo

In my opinion, custom boards are the best buy, since they can taylor something to your needs if they are a good shaper.
I, for example, have a 147 x 41.5 Carved custom, which goes upwind like hell.
Am selling it, since I will move soon, where it is too windy for this board
