That's a excellent summary, really tells us why the Wipika is soo good.. and probably six months away...

I had a sneak look at the AMP 11.9 it has all the features of the X2,segmented struts,7 hidden attachment points, mylar feinforcsments on all struts, LE and canopy seaming similar to the Rhino2 .The kite is due to be on the market in mid Nov 02,looks like wipika are back in the race!!

I'm not sure about them being back in the race. They looked to be from outer space at Surfexpo. I give them one more year before they disappear completely.

Sorry for the change. I moved all the photos of this year's Surf Expo, last year's and the Kiteboard Masters Competition to:

http://groups.msn.com/flkitesurfer/shoebox.msnw

No membership is required to get in so I thought it would be easier for folks to check out the photos.

Wipika had a large booth and a lot of gear on display. Some of the images appear at:

http://groups.msn.com/flkitesurfer/surf ... snw?Page=3

I thought that I had uploaded a shot of the AMP. I will look for it and send it along.

Mylar Reinforcements?

MYLAR?

You must be mistaken. After 2001, I'd be surprised if the market were willing to buy a kite with mylar, even if it was properly applied.

I just uploaded some photos of the Wipika AMP and another model, along with NEXT and Cabrinha kites. I hope to obtain and upload some photos of the new Takoon and Gaastra kites that were present at the show as well.

looks good, but I don't think it'll win back customers with all the other great kites from other manufacturers to choose from!
