There may be other photos from that event as well as possibly the one in Islamorada shortly before that. I will go through the files, shrink others that look ok and will upload them to a site that I will email to you.

Get the Slingshot Jarvis or drake. I have an olry 186 and is a very close match. I would keep your olry as well. Comes in handy on the light wind days.

I tried the 157 (whichever one that was) and didn't like it. Too slow and locked in for me. Try it before buying. Those boards aren't exactly cheap either.

Question re Vangelis' thoughts: Is there any reason I shouldn't just skip the Picklefork transition-phase, and add a dream board to my Olry? (I'll never get rid of the Olry - just curious if an even edgier board will allow me to stubbornly stick with my 2 lines -- perhaps forever!)

And - what are the dream boards that a guy who can stay upwind on an Olry and a 2-liner, but cann't do too much else, yet, should... dream about? I'm dreaming WaveTray 142 right now, but a Jarvis and Drake were also mentioned -- (too similar to my Olry?)

PS - Just to add a twist: last Sept when I was shopping for used, two deals developed at the same time: so I also have a Slingshot Manta ~168 -- which I've never ridden, since the Olry was working out, and I was figuring to resell whichever board I didn't ding-up. [We all agree that the Olry and Manta are VERY similar.. Right?]

Maybe I can help you to find a good board. I bougt the airush wakestyle 141 this year. I expected to use the board only in BIG wind conditions...NOPE. I use it everyday. This board is really awesome. Total freedom on the water. It is a little hard to get the right jumping way....once you got it....Take off. Yesterday I tryed a cabrinha spoiler...a littlebit easier to jump..but the feeling on the water is not as nice as the 141. The 141 is really good overall..

ya bra. i noticed you were gettin no help with a prefectly good question that i am sure others here could help with so i took the liberty of bringing your message back to the top by replying to it with "whos olry?" and ending it with "is anyone going to advise this guy". figured you were asking legitimate questions and you were after help and i'd like to see this be the kind of place people can come to for help, as well as the entertainment that has been flowing from this forum so i jumped in. dont get me wrong, i like the entertainment part of it too, but i dont want to see it become just that. it may have added a bit of a new topic to your thread, but it also got you the help and answers you needed and that was my ultimate goal.

Forget all of those boards buy a North Jamie pro 141 so easy to sail and all the latest design trends.

My reasons for adding the picklfork in between Olry and "dream board" (DB) were only financial. If this is not a concern I would jump to the "DBs" directly. You will progress much faster using these high performers, I've experienced it first hand.

I've tried the WT147 and it was alright (not as enough flex for my taste), the Jarvis I didn't like. I'd recommend you to try as many boards are available to you as possible.
In the SF Bay we are a few who ride X-Shooter 144 and 155 and we love them (a true "DB"). You are welcome to take a look and try them out whenever you got time. (email me directly so we meet at one of the local spots - maybe Crissy?)
I also hear LMG has a cool new design, but I
haven't tried it yet. The Jonah boards are also getting popular in the bay but I find them too stiff for my taste.

Hi Vangelis - I'll look for you at Crissy, and shoot you another email off-post (but you won't see me IN the water at Crissy. THAT sounds a little hairy to me...)

And a nod to the anonymous who first responded to me -- I was wondering what you were smokin' as you took my post off into another direction, but it worked - the post moved up, and I've got some good ideas here re boards.

So - anyone got an opinion on just how similar the Olry 175 and Manta 167 are?
