The following quote is from the Marketing Department of Wipika Kites. This quote was part of another thread here on the Forum regarding Wipika products, in general. However, with the obvious importance of new solutions for control bars, I think this deserves a new thread. Hopefully, we can hear back from those who can tell us more about the features of this new product.
Also, after almost a year's worth of R&D we're finishing the final testing of a competely new (and patented) safety system, this one even you will like, nothing to get tangled, no leash to bug the hell out of you or pose a hazard. 100% safety. I'm telling you guys, we've been working hard, now we're getting ready to kick some ass...hell if we're lucky we might even save a few lives in the process.

Best,

I think that the Wipika safety system related to the bar is the most advanced safety system to date. The quick release mechanism is simple and user freindly. Similiar to a pull cord release sysyem on a parachute. If you're in trouble and hooked into the bar, just pull the release system and you free from the kite. No other safety system on the market offers this reliability.

well, check the results of the German TÃœV.
Everything based on Wichard is good, the rest didn't get good results.

Ok, maybe it's a revolutionary system, but why the f*** are they all trying to patent their safety system ???

There are some cases where patented things really suck. Patents on safety, on software, on language expressions, patents on life and genoma are the silliest thing our moulded society has produced...
F... da system !

Why Software patents are silly ?

Because if a good (or rather the worst, depending from which side you look) lawyer would success in patenting a piece of code (lets say for example a way to use conditional loops in your code) no one else will be allowed to use it, even if it is what you did use for years,... and so no more open things, no more expression of ideas, no more creativity,... no more software, just boring patented stuff...

What's more, if you understand the unpatentability of genoma and DNA, it's the same for software (even if computers DNA is just built upon two elements (0 and 1))...

Anyway, maybe it's not the best place here to debate about the troubles of our society...

But software usually is intellectual property. If you can't protect yourself from theft, then there is no incentive to develop.

Hi Fabjet1,

my comment was based on the a.m. comment.
I assume he/she was talking about the 2002 system.
Of course, if it is about the new system, I can't comment at all.
Sorry for the misunderstanding.
