Peter,

Northern Adriatic has lots of good spots *if* wind comes up. We had a very frustrating summer with nearly 0 wind in July and August. Things are getting better now.

Southern Italy tends to be windier and of course sunnier. I got back from Southern Puglia (the "heel" of Italy) last week, and I was still catching some sun. I didn't have any gear with me save a small 3 square meters training kite, but that was enough for fast body-dragging and general fun.

February might well be the coldest month of the year, so bring along some thick neoprene.

Arno river, Florence, just under Ponte Vecchio. Very cool but arrested by police. I post my photos when I can. My next target is Danau.
