To get big jumps you need to be well powered to be able to go upwind and find it hard to go DOWNWIND.

Timing is everything. Don't have the kite too low or you'll lose you edge and do a 2ft high jump that's 30m long.

for big airs it is important to edge very hard just at the moment the pull upwards comes. And don't fly the kite too low before steering it back, keep it quiet high like 10 or 2 o'clock, not below that.
Additionally when you use the chicken loop, pull the bar towards you when the lift comes.

Good luck!

Also flat water is easier to get big air as you can hold your edge better and no chop to put your timing off.

Conditions also make a difference... if gusty you'll be powered up one minute and you may get the lull and you go to lift off and the jump will be small...

Then again you may do a jump and then a gust hits midair and you get what is called secondary lift... if you've ever had secondary lift you'll know what I'm talking about....

hope this helps...

yeah, you need a lot of power, and when you are fully powered, use the gusts to jump

but don't take it too far with the power.

a 12m kite thats powered up will jump higher than a 16m kite thats powered up to the max!

work on your timing and kite-control, that'll
get you higher than just overpower.

Here another rookie,

Thats a lot of good info I needed right now.

When I do steer back very often my kites drops out of the air. As I understand it now I don't edge enough ( Thougt I did!!)

Am I right when I say the kite doesn't fly over me but I ride under the kite then?
