Foot wear/protection.

Any tips/suggestions on a good pair of kite/surf suitable aqua shoes? Still want to "feel" the board, and slide my feet into the footstraps with out problems. Alot of reef around here. What are you all using?

Okespor, comfy, tight and keep your feet safe and glues in the straps until you wanna let go, cost about 35 euro.

I use Neilpride windsurf booties. I get no problem to get in or out the straps, I just have to have my straps a bit looser than when i'm barefoot. I tried low cut booties at first, but moved to high cut ones. they fit better around my ankles and therefore I don't get any sand inside when I get through the shorebreak.

Got 'em in the local sports megastore but any good surf shop should have em. They have velcro straps that keep em tight around your heel and ankles, rubber on the bottom and neopreene uppers.
The important thing is they have to be comfy but tight or your foot will twist in em when you're pulling against the kite.

I have a pair of Gul booties. They are really thin on bottom with just enough for foot pretection but limited warmth. They originally felt like loose slippers but ended up being comfy in the straps, good board feel, and lasting a long time.

My toes used to blow through my Okespores once or twice a season so I had to try something new.

I also have the GUL booties. I sail in some seriously cold water and find that these are the warmest and most durable booties of many I have tried. They have a thin sole and feel pretty good. I am so used to them that I use them year round. We also have zebra mussels (read as underwater razor blades) up here and you need foot protection. They run a little big, so I would recommend getting a size a little smaller than your shoe size.
