There appear to be maybe 4 to 5 schools. Two seem to be 'corporate resort' operations, but they have all the 'brand name' gear. It is perhaps a difficult question, because no individual goes to a different school a second time with the same expirence, unless they have Alzimer's. They already forgot anyway...

So, the new question, for you who have hung out there and didn't need any schooling: "Where would you send a friend with some expirence for additional fine tuning, getting upwind, etc?"

I'd appreciate any buzz you've heard about the various schools. Thanks!

All the schools have their pluses/minuses. I am affiliated with http://www.kitexcite.com. I recommend this school because:
- great location on the beach
-accomondations right on kitebeach with storage areas for your equipment if needed. The hotel only caters to kitesurfers.
-great instructors...wide variety of equipment
-insured
-inhouse kite repair w/discount for kitexcite customers
-excellent safety record

Ryan,
What is IKO? There are a few organizations that have certification programs. kitexcite's is through International Windsurfing Association (based in Germany, will double check but pretty sure this is assoc). We are also looking into the newly organized PASA.

Looks like the IKO is the "International Kitesurf Organisation", but don't take it for granted!

The German Ass. you mentioned must be the VDWS. All schools in Germany and many abroad are members of it.

They also have instructor courses which are accepted worldwide.

Ryan, I think you wanted to obtain an instructor course, correct?
If yes, you should do it with the VDWS.
Next course will be in Hurghada, Egypt (25.2.-10.3.), the next in Germany in May.
