Maui is good all year but it is hit and miss if you go in winter. The trades are guaranteed through summer but could dissappear for the whole month of Jan and weeks at a time in Feb. Good time to go for the kite crowd will be smaller. Every windsurf shop has gear for sale. Look for the cheapest prices then haggle a little. Good luck.
