Hi Guys,

as I learned yesterday, the Cabrinha kites meassure in surface area and not in projected anymore !!! (so a CO2 9.0 has a surface area of 9.0 sqm)

And it looks like that all 2003 kites of any brand will offer their kitesizes in surface area. This is finally very good!!!!

As far as I know, pretty much all of them are headed towards actual sail size instead of projected. Much needed too as it will eliminate some of the confusion of comparing this kite to that kite or what size in that brand will be similar to this size in this brand. I can't say Wipika is following this trend, but I hope so. We need a standardized method for sizing in this industry.

Wipika references both dimensions on their 2002 kites(AB & Hydro).

They refer to the new 2003 AMP model as a 11.9, which I believe replaces the 11.8 AB but not sure if they give the flat area specification on the kite itself.
