I have !

The Mystery 140 is an awesome board.
Light, good grip, and a perfect trim.

The Mystery 150 I tried to use as a light wind board (its quite big - wide all over).
No good IMO (as a light wind board that is), because it is too slow.

For some reason the bottom concave depth is very different on the 140 and 150 - so the 140 is not just a smaller version of the 150.

If I was really heavy, and looking for a "one board only" - I would pick the Mystery 150.

In all other cases I would take the 140 !

F.ex. the Brunotti Lord of Hellfire is faster than both Mystery's.
But the Mystery has immense edge and grip, so you can really boost high on the Mystery.

And it has much better trick potential than the Hellfire (wider - will easier plane out of any trick).

Because the 150 is so slow (rocker, no release edge), I don't like it very much - and its useless as a lightwind board (the much smaller Hellfire will get me planing just as early because of its board speed).

But the board is ultra light (be careful - they will not break when jumping - but don't drop it on rocks or anything, the "skin" is quite fragile)

A lot of our very best riders are using the Mystery 140 as their only board.

Don't know if I am helping you or not ?

I got the 150 as a high wind ( I am 95 kgs) board and very soon discover that it is a great light wind board. This board is very light and is a great all around board.
The only disadvantage i found is that it is not as strong as other boards.

Thanks a bunch Peter!

What exactly do you percieve as really heavy? I weigh 185 lbs - 82 kgs.

I am looking at just getting one board. So I think I will go for the 150 as opposed to the 140. (still not sure yet.)

I also noticed that the fins that come with the board are very thick and I thought this might contribute to the slow board speed. I would probably put on thinner more streamlined fins. What else causes this board to be slower?

any other help would be great!

thanks a million

The fin size means nothing...

Thinner fins will be faster in theory, so you could change of course.
But you won't be able to feel the difference on a TT with small fins.

It is the rocker line without release edges, that makes the board slower than other boards.

The 140 is shorter, and has less rocker - so it is sligthly faster, but has much less volume than the 150.

But the boards needs some rocker to be in a good trim for jumping and turning and landings.
And longer boards needs more rocker to obtain the same "feel".

With release edges you get a faster board, but often not as perfect in handling and smooth grip.

All in all, the Mystery's are two excellent boards !
But you can find boards that will go in much less wind than the 150 (faster).
But for jumps and tricks, it is awesome - and if the wind picks up out there, you will be able to jump and edge without any of the problems you would have on an earlier planing board.
And you will not sink in the lulls, like on the 140 !
So with your weight, and as a "one board only", I think it sounds perfect !

Just bought the Mystery 150 and tried it out and loved it!!

I am in Brazil right now and the wind has been pretty bad but I took it out with my 16 Rhino and sailed easily and was jumping in what seemed to be about 10 knots.
I don't have a lot of experience with larger tts but this one sure has me convinced for lighter winds. I am curious to see how it will handle when the wind picks up. If it is overwhelming, I'll probably pick up the 140 too. Here in Brazil, they only cost $390 complete!
