Anyone here actually use one of these ?

I have one for use in 15 - 25 knts (11.0)
and find it too powerful for me at these wind speeds.

Question - Can they be flown as 4 line ?

If not then why ?

Is the profile the key issue with respect to the power of this kite ? what can the 11.0 be compared to in its 4 line equivolent because I find the power on this thing Awesome. really close to an Aero 14. but the projected on the Aero is 2 m bigger but feels the same as the 8.1 of the virus - a good explanation would be grrrrreat!

Sorry, never used a Virus.
But I have seen it being used in 4 line mode once. So I guess it comes like most 2 liners with the option to roll up the tips.

From what I heard, it has a lot of grunt due to its deep profile. It might be the case, though, that it doesn't depower as well as other kites then.
Don't hold me to it, though

Thanks Jev. It does depower, but it has too much power when trying to walk it backwards.

itss ony an 8.1 projected so I cant understand how it has so much!

Any more suggestions welcome - anyone!

It seems that higher aspect kites and kites with shallower profiles are less "grunty", ie don't pull so hard on the beach, but make up some of the difference once you start moving on the water, due to the apparent wind generated.

Are you looking for a kite to complement it or are you just curious?

I'm looking for a kite yes, but I need to trade this one as its not right for me. My other is an aero which is ok.

I got this for 15- 25 knts but its more like a 13 - 7 knoter for me so its overlapping my aero 16 windrange,

what more, its tooo grunty for my Naish 2..2 TT (orange banana one). Cant hold the edge.

what do you suggest ?

I would look for a similar style of kite if you are happy with your Aero. Doesnt make sense to take different styles of kites for no reason.
Secondly, I would take into consideration if you are looking at 2002 or 2003. The Slingshots sound great, may be the Aero2, or look if you can find a cheap 2002 kite.

Cheers, I got the Virus as a replacement for a delaminated R3 from Naish - looks like they gave me the wrong kite for my style. Waste of time and energy.

For Sale - £500 (uk).
