In the description it says that both kites are high AR, so in strong winds >20 whats the diference between the two kites? and what is the best one?

Where did you get that description? Both kites are NOT high AR. The GTO is much lower AR than the Fuel. I think when compared side by side, in the same winds, the 9m Fuel will have a bit more power than the 9m GTO. They are pretty different kites indeed.

In higher winds, I find myself reaching for the GTO as much or more than the Fuel. Seems like it's a bit slower turning than the Fuel and is easier to handle in higher winds.

http://www.white-reef.com/Kite/Wings/Fuel_2003.htm

"aspect ratio" = High

http://www.white-reef.com/Kite/Wings/gto_2003.htm

"aspect ratio" = High

This is where i get the description.
That´s why i would like to know the AR numbers for all sizes of fuels and gto´s.
I can find this information in other kites on the net, but not for slingshot.

Hi Pedro, FYI, I contacted the distributor in Oz to ask what the AR of the 03 Fuels were and he told me that Slingshot are not advertising this as they are getting away from being too technical. Basic specs for the kites were that it MUST relaunch OK but still have high enough AR to increase speed from last year's model. In any case I'm rapt with my 15. Brad

Well, looks like white reef is a bit misleading. Slingshot has three LEI kite. Torque(Low AR) GTO(Medium AR) and FUEL(High AR).

Sorry I don't have exact numbers for you. I can give you pics to compare the two so you can make your own decision.

Omg! What a diference. I bought the 9m Fuel  i need a kite to start @ 16 knots and i dont have more than 30 knots here in portugal-algarve.

I already tested the kite in 12 knots it is very very fast, then i used the slow turning setup and it feels a lot more on the bar. I think i will always ride in the slow setup

Thanks Johnny

Don't blame the white reef site for the high AR of the GTO. I justed checked out my own page and I have the same and that came direct from the Slingshot site for distributors and resellers. I believe that all the fuels AR is between 5.1 and 5.3 but cant tell you what the GTO is however it is definetly lower than the fuel. I used my Fuel 9 meter along with SS team rider Dave Edwards in 35 gusting upto 40 kts yesterday. We both agreed that without the gust we could have taken it a little higher. Dave launched into the water with a jump from the sand at about 25 feet then straigth into several others. He loved the Kite and loved the fact that he still got some hangtime not like alot of other small kites where you get the height but drop out of the sky once the kite reaches its apex. Myself being of a normal standard went out and enjoyed myself but must admit was a little concerned about sending the kite back to fast.
Its a great Kite
