I have been riding for one summer and am lookig for a foil kite that would also be good on the water. The Psycho 9.3 has been suggested to me as a possibilty as it has enormous depower and good saftey set up. Would a Warrior or Arc be better?

I think the warrior is much better suited for a beginner, the psycho is pretty high performance, you will love the 9.3 warrior, which can be very extreme as well.

i dont think you are a beginer if you are kiting all summer.so go for the psycho but be carefull at the begining.a lot of power.but you wont need to change that kite for a long time...

You will have to judge your level for yourself, but I would tend to agree, if you have been going all summer, you must be able to stay upwind, turn relatively smoothly, and do some small controlled jumps, and lanrger uncontrolled ones.

My advise would be to to get together with your Flysurfer dealer, or someone with experience on Psychos or other FS kites. Let them understand your level, and they can properly advise you on where to go from there.

In my oppinion, the most important question to answer when deciding weather to get the Psycho or not, is how good is your kite control? If you are a beginner, coming into the sport from out of the blue, I would expect your kite control to be a lot less skilled than someone coming into the sport from paragliding / stunt kites, etc... If you can control a four line kite very well, and are prepared to move to a kite that needs to be actively controlled at least the first few times that you have it, untill you learn to feel it, then the Psycho is a good choise.

Do not fear it, respect it. This goes for all aspects of the sport.

try the warriors, try the psycho. make up your own mind.

be realistic about your level and safety skills, anybody can buy an x2, but it won't make you ride like mark shinn.

a high performance kite could retard your progression.

try them, if you can't then i'd go for the warrior.

Obviously get used to it in lighter wind first before trying it in stronger stuff, especially if you've never flow a foil.

those who have already had the opportunity for comparison: has the Psycho 15.5 best low end of all availabel FS ? Able to compete with e.g. Gaastra GXR 19.5 - need something for the breeze .. REALLY working ..

no the 16m mast air is still the lowest wind kite that i've tried. more pull than a 16.? airblast and the 23.5 naish.

but its a bitch, you'll have more fun bigger jumps and still be using the same kite in 20mph if you get the 15.5 psycho
