I heard they are undergoing a redesign to beef it up. The new version probably won't be available until Jan. Another good choice for kiteboarders who are concerned about safety is the new bar by Ocean Rodeo. It has a feature that opens the hook in loop if you sheet out hard and hit a pre-set stop ball. This feature works if you let go of the bar. You don't lose the kite though, because it is retained by wrist leash.

Hi

I used the bar and it keept openning while kiting, switched to a new one and same result but less often.
Still it was very distrubing to know it might open at any time, and once it does it sometimes ripp your harness out of your body(WHarness), then it is really a bitch to put it back as there is nothing else than your arms holding the kite, nedd to put it down and manage to reattach your harness underwater without loosing the kite.

Finally had enought changed to a fix bar and no more problems.
Some of the guys are using them with no problem, so go figure!!!!!!

Latter,

fabjet.
