Has anyone ridden the Jimmy Lewis Dominatrix? He claims awesome performance - says it's better than everything else. I am considering getting a new board from either Underground, Hanna Crew, and Jimmy Lewis. I think Lewis makes these as semi-customs.

you can get standard or lightweights from jimmy lewis, the lightweights are customs.

they are excellent boards, grippy light and flexible. he's the originator of more trends in boards than anyone else.

the dominatrix is actually a concave shape on the bottom of the board that can be made into any of the board shapes, it gives you a bit more grip at the expense of a tiny bit of low end.

Yeah, and if you don't believe me, just ask him!

Don't get me wrong, he's obviously good. Its just that arrogance rubs me the wrong way, especially when someone pumps up their own products while saying that everything else is worse or "sucks" or is a follower. I'm not so sure that JL has come up with the most design innovations of anyone.

you see becasue you haven't logged in i cant tell whether you are a shit for brains who asks a question and doesn't want the answer.

or just some flamer trying to get a bite.

my original answer stands. and if it wasn't for people like jimmy, designers, not copiers like the big manufacturers, making new and innnovative shapes you'd still be ridng the same old shit.

split tails
step rails
concave bottoms
asymmetrical outlines.

pretty much everything he's come up with filters its way down into production boards.

wipika cabrinha liquid force naish airush have all released boards licensed from his deisgns.

you'd still be on a surf board or a stock wake without this guy.

yeh his adverts are abrasive but then so would i be if my advertising budget was 20k compared to naishs 2million

The riders that have worked with Jimmy deserve just as much credit. There have been many times where a rider has an idea about a shape or feature and a shaper has run with it, produced it, and taken credit for it after it worked.

My .02

I was using a flat bottom Jimmy and when
I tried the dominatrix bottom and I loved it!

I just bought a Wipika mystery and it has the same concave bottom and I love the feel of it.

Any board that has a concave bottom instead of flat will give you that same feeling.

Definitely if you are going to buy a Jimmy, make it a dominatrix.
