I looked at the latest Kiteboarding mag and could not see one rider using a kite leash. These are all photo's of hot experienced riders but so what. They also loose the bar on a big stack. Then what happens. Some poor bastard downwind has to deal with this guys mistake.

If you don't want to wear a helmet, impact vest, PFD....then don't. If you stack and get hurt so what you only hurt yourself. Don't wear a kite safety leash and others could pay for you runaway kite. Not cool.

I agree fully with you Peebs,
These guys are too hot too worry a shit about others.
They should be the ones giving the right example.
Not cool at all.

One of the regulations in the US.

What official rules do you have were you live?
thx - Dix

Sec. 101.7 Hazardous operations.
(a) No person may operate any moored balloon, kite, unmanned rocket, or
unmanned free balloon in a manner that creates a hazard to other persons, or
their property.
(b) No person operating any moored balloon, kite, unmanned rocket, or
unmanned free balloon may allow an object to be dropped therefrom, if such
action creates a hazard to other persons or their property.

(Sec. 6(c), Department of Transportation Act (49 U.S.C. 1655(c)))

The Lion is asleep. When a kitesurfer awakens the Lion, the Lion will carry the offending kitesurfer in it's jaws for all to see and to be made an example of. (c) - xid - 2002

The hungry Lion will be waiting on the shore.

The Lion will be a young bureaucrat just given a new office with dreams of building a future empire.

Do we take that path, or will we quietly walk downwind of the Lion and let it sleep.
