for beginners what kind of board is recommended. Would love to hear some reactions.

unless you're a pro-wakeboarder who wants to try out kiteboarding you can cut out wakeboards.

if you're a windsurfer, it'll be easier to start on a 'known' directional, where you can still use the fin(s) for riding.

but anyhow, you could start with a twintip and save time you'd be waisting learning the jibe.

i'd say: 1. take a course - there you'll get a directional board around 6'6" ... .
after that, with some experience, you can switch to a 6'0" directional or a twin tip in about 175cm.
always be sure that your first board has at least a little volume and starts to glide early.

I 100% agree, Murdoc.

Looking back to the days I started, nowadays I would start with a twintip with the size of approx. 180 cm. Good boards like this are the F-one 180 twintips. Make sure they have some volume so you don't need a kite too big.
